Ground Floor – Internal Condensation
LOOSENING OF PVC FLOOR COVERING OF SPORTS PAVILION

ASSESSMENT AND MEASUREMENTS

When the floor configuration was analysed, it was found that the covering was glued directly onto the concrete support layer. This was a ground floor consisting of a gravel box, concrete support layer and glued PVC covering.
A dry carotage was performed on the support layer of the covering and the moisture content determined. The concrete was found to have a higher moisture content at the surface than deeper down.
The following measurements were taken in order to characterise the hygrothermal conditions:

      - Relative humidity at the glue joins of the covering;
      - Temperature at the various interfaces of the ground floor;
      - Indoor temperature and relative atmospheric moisture content.
